Singapore Airport Terminal Services(SATS), the subsidiary of SingaporeAirlines, said that it, together with itsChinese partner Capital Airports Holding(CAH), will expand its ground-handlingbusinesses to cover eight otherChinese airports.
With the expansion, SATS will havea presence of 13 airports in China (includingMacau and Hong Kong). Theadditional airports – Tianjin, Nanchang,Wuhan, Chongqing, Guiyang, Changchun,Hohhot and Harbin – are part ofCAH’s network of 31 airports.
The expansion will be carried outthrough their joint-venture companyBeijing Aviation Ground Services(BGS). BGS will have eight new jointventure partners, and SATS will retain a40 percent equity share in the expandedentities after contributing furthercapital in cash of US$21.8 million.
CAH and the eight Chinese airportcompanies will hold the remaining 60percent.
