Emirates Group Security and DHL Global Forwarding have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Strategic Air Cargo Security Partnership, a DHL Global Forwarding initiative.

As one of DHL’s preferred air carriers, Emirates is one of the first airline partners to join this programme. The aim of this security partnership programme is to work together and to agree on standard operating procedures(SOP) for high-value and high-risk air cargo, to share best practices and information on crime trends and to partner in lobbying towards authorities.

Commenting on the new partnership programme, Dr. Abdulla Al Hashimi, divisional senior vice president Emirates Group Security said: ‘The Emirates Group has always been committed to strengthening security throughout the handling chain.

Incidentally, it was Emirates and DHL that were among the first in the UAE and Middle East that attained the TAPA (Technology Asset Protection Association) certification.”
