Hong Kong Air Cargo TerminalsLimited (Hactl) said tonnage handledin the fourth quarter was 717,361tonnes, representing a year-on-yearincrease of 6.0 percent. Total volumehandled for the whole year of 2006topped the 2.5 million mark – a total of2,561,902 tonnes were handled in theyear, up 5.3 percent against 2005, andsetting a new annual tonnage recordfor the company.

Export tonnage for the fourth quarterwas 411,893 tonnes, up 5.1 percentyear-on-year. Aggregate export tonnagefor the whole year reached 1,440,181tonnes, representing a year-on-yeargrowth of 4.7 percent.

A total of 185,607 tonnes of importcargo were handled in the fourthquarter, up 3.0 percent. Total importvolume for the whole year was 696,178tonnes, up 3.3 percent on a year-onyearbasis.

Cumulative transhipment tonnagefor the fourth quarter was 119,861tonnes, up 14.3 percent against thesame period in 2005. Total transhipmentvolume for the whole year was425,543 tonnes, representing a growthof 11.3 percent year-on-year.
