Qatar Airways Cargo has announcedseveral appointments in senior managementpositions. The Doha-basedcarrier has promoted Joachim Klechato regional manager Europe andAmericas, to be based in Frankfurt.Prior to joining Qatar Airways Cargo,Klecha was area manager, Germany,Switzerland and Austria for BritishAirways Cargo.
In another appointment, the airlinenamed Anil Bhagat as regional managerIndian Sub-Continent, based inMumbai. Formerly corporate accountsmanager in Doha, his new role involvesoverseeing sales and operations for theregion. Bhagat brings to the regionmore than 10 years of cargo industryexperience gained through organisationssuch as KLM and Alitalia.
In another appointment, the airlinenamed Irfan Tungekar as regional managerfor the Middle East and Africa,based in Muscat. He brings to the rolemore than 10 years industry experienceafter having served the last eight yearswith Qatar Airways in Muscat, Sanaa,Jakarta and Dubai and previously KoreanAir in Dubai.
Qatar Airways Cargo further strengthenedits sales management structure byappointing Paul Rajaratnam to headup corporate accounts sales. Based inDoha, Rajaratnam will be responsiblefor developing corporate account strategiesand global partnerships.
Formerly with UPS Air Cargo forseven years, David Cleary has joinedQatar Airways Cargo as manager cargosales and marketing. Based in Doha,Cleary is responsible for overseeingthe sales and marketing strategies forthe cargo division of the carrier. Clearybrings to the role more than 16 yearsexperience gained within the air cargoindustry.
