China’s five main logistics centresmay see 10 second-tier cities operatingas centres of manufacturing andlogistics, according to a research reportby property consultant Jones LangLaSalle (JLL).
The second-tier cities of Chengdu,Hangzhou, Shenyang, Chongqing,Wuhan, Nanjing, Harbin, Changchun,Xi’an and Zhengzhou all show increasingtrends in retail growth, they said.
"Given that the retail sector accountsfor three-quarters of logistics activity,the current and future location strategiesof the large foreign retail multiplesand expanding domestic retailersprovide good lead indicators of thefuture geography of logistics," DavidHand, managing director of Jones LangLaSalle in Beijing, was quoted as sayingby XFN-Asia.
