GAC Hong Kong has signed a oneyearcapacity purchase agreement withLufthansa Cargo for the movementof cargo between Hong Kong andEurope.
Under the agreement, GAC HongKong is assured of space allocation andcompetitive rates by Lufthansa Cargo.This deal increases GAC HongKong’s weekly capacity and enhancesits ability to offer clients a quality producton a prime carrier at consistentlyattractive rates.
In return, GAC is committed totransporting cargo via Lufthansa, anairline that is posting high growthrates, particularly for traffic to andfrom Asia.
"We have been working closely withLufthansa Cargo at a local and regionallevel," said Stuart Bowie, managingdirector of GAC Hong Kong, "and this agreement represents significant progress in what is expected to be a productive partnership for both companies."
According to Lufthansa Cargo’sregional manager of sales (Southern& Western China, Taiwan), CarstenHernig, Hong Kong plays a key role asan international transhipment centrefor the Southern Chinese region. Hesaid the carrier is continuously expandingits capacities in the region in orderto increase its market share in the ongoinggrowth of Chinese exports.
