Following the decision by the board of the Thai Airfreight Forwarders Association (TAFA), that they are not able to host the FAPAA ECM/AGM meeting this year and have asked to be excused, the FAPAA secretariat has started work on fi nding a new venue for the ECM/AGM. For legal reasons this year’s AGM must be held by September 10, 2007 at the very latest.
The secretariat, in close co-operation with the Hongkong Association of Freight Forwarding & Logistics (HAFFA) and the Macau Air Freight Forwarding (Logistics) Association (MAFFA), has kindly accepted the offer from HAFFA to host this year’s event in Hong Kong in the Gold Coast hotel from August 29-30. At press time, MAFFA had indicated they were looking at the possibility of hosting the traditional golf tournament.
The FAPAA secretariat said it had also received an offer from the Nepal Freight Forwarders Association (NEFFA) to host the event. The secretariat, however, has pointed out that a meeting was held there as recently as 2003 (previously 1994). Whilst all arrangements and facilities were absolutely fi rst class, “we wish to try and be fair and give others who have not held the meeting more recently, to have the fi rst chance,” the secretariat said.
