Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (HACTL) said it has implemented a new phase of its Vehicle Information System by providing added functions to the existing system to enhance in-terminal handling effi ciency, heighten terminal security and add convenience to cargo agents and trucking companies.
Phase two of the Vehicle Information System, which is an on-line, instant electronic platform that monitors the in-terminal activities of trucks on a daily basis, offers added convenience to terminal users such as agents and truckers by providing a new function that enables better correlation of the assignment of truck docks with the zone in which truckers and agents tender their cargo in HACTL’s Super- Terminal 1.
This new initiative, which shortens agents and truckers’ in-terminal dwelling time, also helps strengthen terminal security by displaying the total number of customs-constrained shipments as against the total number of shipments the truck has collected, upon scanning of the Truck Admission Card at the terminal exit.
