GAC Hong Kong has signed a oneyear capacity purchase agreement with Lufthansa Cargo for the movementof cargo between Hong Kong and Europe.
Under the agreement, GAC Hong Kong is assured of space allocation andcompetitive rates by Lufthansa Cargo.
This deal increases GAC Hong Kong’s weekly capacity and enhances its ability to offer clients a quality product on a primecarrier at consistently attractive rates.
In return, GAC is committed to transporting cargo via Lufthansa, an airline that is posting high growth rates, particularly for traffi c to andfrom Asia.
“We have been working closely with Lufthansa Cargo at a local and regional level,” said Stuart Bowie, managing director of GAC Hong Kong, “and this agreement represents signifi cant progress in what is expected to be a productive partnership for both companies.”
According to Lufthansa Cargo’s regional manager of sales (Southern& Western China, Taiwan), CarstenHernig, Hong Kong plays a key role asan international transhipment centrefor the Southern Chinese region. Hesaid the carrier is continuously expandingits capacities in the region in orderto increase its market share in the ongoinggrowth of Chinese exports.
