Lufthansa Systems said it will launch a brand-new system release ELWIS 8, which features a new graphic user interface, as well as SLA monitoring, DG online handling, enhanced customer notifi cation, and optimised tracking & tracing.

The new release is an updated version of the well-proven ELWIS air cargo solution, which currently manages 25 air cargo handling operations in Asia, Europe, and South America totaling over 3 million tonnes of cargo a year.

In a statement, Lufthansa Systems said that, running under Windows XP, ELWIS is based on a powerful ORACLE 10g database. This ensures accurate data at all times while mapping the entire cargo handling process chain from physical handling at the warehouse to invoicing handling services, enabling customers to achieve both higher throughput and signifi cantly lower handling and IT costs.
