Indonesia’s leading logistics solutions provider, RPX Group, has unveiled its second transit warehouse, the RPX Cargo Building (RCB) located at the cargo area of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport of Jakarta. The facility is fully equipped with modern service systems, which are directly connected to the RPX online system.
“The new cargo building is a response to growing demands for more internationally standardised facility, as well as to the increased import and export cargoes,” said Harsah E. Joesoef, CEO of RPX Group.
According to Ari HK Pane, managing director of the RPX Warehouse, the new building which stands on a site of 7,540 square meters, is designed to make the whole air-cargo delivery process to and from the airport easier and safer.
RCB is equipped with modern facilities such as X-Ray machines, dock leveler, acceptance digital scales, storage areas, build up custer decks, and scissor lifts.
The new facility has the capacity of 200 tonnes each for inbound and outbound cargoes, while its old (fi rst) facility only has the maximum capacity of 70 tonnes.
According to Joesoef, the Rp30 billion-facility will be operated on a 20-year concession with airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II under a builtoperate- transfer system.
The new facility will support the group’s target to achieve revenue growth of 12 percent this year.
The group’s alliance with FedEx benefi ts its customers for intercontinental deliveries.
The company’s domestic shipments also show significant growth, since the launch of the Authorised Ship Centre (ASC) two years ago. By the end of this year, the group targets to have 250 outlets throughout Indonesia and will double it to 500 in two years. – Siktus Harson
