Envirotainer is increasing its service coverage in Switzerland following the appointment of Planzer to provide an additional handling station for the company’s containers in Pratteln,near Basel.
This new agreement with Planzer means Envirotainer’s customers are now supported by three locations (service providers) in Switzerland. The move reflects the growth and development of the healthcare industry in Switzerland – one of Envirotainer’s key global markets.
Planzer Transport has invested more than CHF 1.5 million in the new joint Planzer-Envirotainer base. At this new Envirotainer station, Planzer offers combined air cargo services in 6,000 m² cold storage (+5°C) and 9,000m² ambient-storage (15°C – 25°C) alongside cargo handling and refrigerated road feeder services to major airports in Europe.
Envirotainer stations receive, store, clean, check, release and charge all containers in the company’s 3,500- strong container fleet. Subject to a separate agreement with shippers, airlines and forwarders, Planzer can also provide additional services including the provision of dry ice, batteries, pre-conditioning and loading of containers.
