Germany’s second largest freight airport, Cologne Bonn has invested about 22 million euros, in a new cargo and freight-forwarding centre that willstart operations in late 2008.

"The new cargo and freight forwarding centre with its 10,000 sqm of operational space and 4,000 sqm of office space was targeted to create freight transportation-friendly surroundings and, at the same time, to help further develop the traditional daily freight business" said Gerton Hulsmann, head of the airport’s cargo business development.
