DHL has inaugurated a new service centre in Banjarmasin, the capital city of South Kalimantan in Indonesia. The 120 sqm service centre will facilitate the trade fl ow in the rapidly developingKalimantan.
The new facility was built in support of oil, gas, and mining companies operating in Kalimantan, which need reliable express and logistics services. Area manager of PT Birotika Semesta/DHL Express, Welty Tambunan said Kalimantan’s huge reserves of natural recourses– particularly SouthKalimantan province – haveturned it into one of Indonesia’sfastest-growing regions.
South Kalimantan’s highly valued natural resources, for instance crops and coal, will be exported via Banjarmasin as a major gateway to global markets. Tambunan added that the new service centre will also help boost foreign investors’ trust to invest in Kalimantan. – Siktus Harson
