Plane Handling Limited, a leading ground handling company in the UK, has announced the promotion of two senior managers to general manager positions based at London Heathrow.
Paul Williams, who has been named general manager cargo, began his career in aviation in 1989 with Plane’s sister company aviance (formerly GHI) at Gatwick as a warehouseman, after two years he transferred to the cargo operation where he undertook key roles before becoming a supervisor and then progressing to cargo managerin 1998.
In 2000, Williams moved to the commercial department as commercial manager for aviance UK. This became a dual role in 2005 when he began looking after Plane Handling’s commercial business.
Dave Edwards, who has been promoted general manager ramp and transport, also started his career in aviation with aviance at Gatwick back in 1986, where he held a number of roles before moving to the position of ramp co-ordinator in 1993.
In 1999, Edwards joined Plane Handling with the start up of the ramp operations in Terminal 3. He held the position of training supervisor before being appointed to ramp manager in 2002.
