Aeronautical Engineers Inc, (AEI) announced it has received approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and has been issued a Supplemental Type Certifi cate (STC) to convert Boeing B737-400 passenger aircraft to full freighters.

AEI’s B737-400 Freighter can accommodate 10 full 88”X125” size pallets and can carry a payload up to 48,000 lbs. The launch customer for the B737-400 is RPK Capital and the aircraft will be operated by Flyant Cargo airlines a subsidiary of Spain’s Futura International Airways. AEI has previously undertaken passenger to freighter conversions on Boeing 727-100, B727-200, B737-200, DC-8, L1011 and L188 aircraft.
