Mahan Air has increased its frequency between Iran and Germany, with a daily service launched betweenTehran and Düsseldorf.
“We’ve already experienced considerable growth in cargo volumes on this route, which has resulted in the decision to substantially boost our airfreight capacity,” said Hossein Hosseini, director of marketing and route management for Mahan Air to Arabian Business.
The route, which was previously served four times a week, is being operatedusing an Airbus A310-300.
The airline operates scheduled passenger fl ights, with cargo belly space, to eleven countries in the Middle East, Europe, Indian subcontinent and Far East, although this number is expectedto increase over the next year.
“We’ve carried 27,000 tonnes of cargo on international fl ights during 2006, which is a 21 per cent increase over 2005. We’re now planning to increase frequencies or introduce new routes, potentially adding Stockholm or Oslo to the network,’’ he added.
