Singapore has announced its Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), has recently set up a fl ight recorder readout facility to download and analyze data from the cockpit voice and fl ightdata recorders.
“Our AAIB is more than happy to offer to other organisations the use of its fl ight recorder readout facility as this is one of the most important areas of aircraft investigation procedure,” said Singapore’s transport minister, Raymond Lim. Mr Lim highlighted the importance of international cooperation in the air safety realm noting that the AAIB has also assisted several regional countries in their aircraft investigations and in drafting of accident investigation manuals.
