Reinhard Lange, who was appointed successor to current Kuehne + Nagel International AG CEO Klaus Herms in September 2007, will take up his new position on 1 January 2009, the Swiss global forwarding and logistics group announced recently.

“The board of directors, in agreement with the management board, has taken the decision to assign Reinhard Lange full responsibility for the implementation of the group’s strategy as of the beginning of 2009,” stated Klaus-Michael Kuehne, executive chairman of K+N International’s board of directors. “Th is decision ensures continuity in the company’s management and its strategic orientation, which is crucial in view of the challenging market environment.”

Kuehne added that Herms would remain CEO until the end of 2008 and would thereafter “support the company with his comprehensive knowledge in a consultancy role”.
