The UAE and Qatar have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to increase the number of flights between the two countries. Under the MoU, FlyDubai was appointed as a UAE national carrier along with Emirates, Etihad, Air Arabia and RAK Air, while Qatar Airways was appointed Qatar’s national carrier. The deal authorises an unlimited number of scheduled and unscheduled flights between Dubai and Qatar, 42 scheduled flights between Abu Dhabi and Doha, 10 scheduled flights between Sharjah and Doha and seven scheduled flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Qatar. The two may operate scheduled cargo flights of any aircraft.
