The gang here at Bellyache Central would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the good folks over yonder in the Port of Huntsville. Huntsville is apparently in Alabama…and errr, that’s in the US. The Port was celebrating the grand opening of their new International Intermodal Center Air Cargo South Facility – wow, that’s a mouthful – and they were kind enough to invite us to “An Evening in the Orient†held from 5.30-7.30 on 30 April. You can imagine how tickled we were! But, alas, inside the envelope there was only the invitation – beautifully done up on a designer card complete with faux bamboo motif, we might add. Try as we might, we could not seem to shake an airplane ticket out of that stubborn envelope. So, we’re thinking, maybe they forgot to include it? Or, maybe, they confused the Payload Asia address in Singapore with the one in…ummmh, Florida. At any rate, it was very nice of them to think of us and we’re bitterly disappointed that we couldn’t be there because we’re wondering just exactly what an “evening in the Orient†would be like in Alabama. And before we let you go, some trivia for you: Alabama is also known as the “heart of Dixieâ€Â, Dixie being the nickname for the Southern US. At any rate, congrats on the new air cargo facility from all us at Bellyache – we raise our glass of mint julep (we’re using a mojito instead because we figure its almost the same) in a toast!
