New Zealand Bloodstock Airfreight has announced the addition of two new scheduled flights with weekly services from Auckland to Christchurch and Christchurch to Sydney.
“Our new service to Christchurch will make racing in the South more accessible to North Island trainers while the Sydney flight aims to better connect the South Island with the Australian market,†said NZB’s airfreight managerGreg Northcott.
BRUNEI: Brunei’s first dedicated cargo carrier takes off Brunei-based Syabas Aviation Sdn Bhd recently announced the commencement of its first scheduled air cargo service between Brunei and Singapore, which operates twice-weekly using Antonov AN32 and Antonov AN12 freighters.
The AN32 has a cargo capacity of seven tonnes, while the Antonov AN12 has a cargo capacity of 18 tonnes and the two aircraft bring flexibility in carrying the odd-sized cargo and special industry equipment coming in and out of Brunei, according to Syabas.
Apart from carrying cargo into and out of Brunei, the scheduled air cargo service is also intended to enhance the air cargo transhipment business through the Brunei International Airport.
“Petroleum exploration, for instance, requires logistical products such as drilling parts. Certain work at the oilfield needs to be speeded up and faster delivery is required. For 30 years, we didn’t have dedicated air forward service to Brunei,†said Syabas Aviation chairman Sheikh Abas bin Sheikh Mohamad.
“We can also offer services to transport perishable goods, chemicals, batteries as well as very long, specialised industrial equipment. We are not competing with the existing air cargo flights, merelycomplementing,†he added.
