Former SAS Cargo sales director Jan Lillieborg, who is charged with the obstruction of justice in connection with the airline’s involvement in the globe-spanning cargo price fixing scandal, is said to be on the run after being fired from his new job, according to the Copenhagen Post. Lillieborg – indicted on three counts by the US Department of Justice – was reportedly fired from his job with Swedish company Green Cargo on Tuesday and has been uncontactable since then. Timothy Pfiel, previously SAS Cargo’s area director of sales and marketing for the Americas, spent six months in a US federal prison following his conviction for his part in helping to fix cargo prices between 15 airlines, including SAS, from 2002 to 2006. Pfiel testified that Lillieborg ordered the destruction of documents relating to those charges on the same day that the Danish Competition Council raided the company’s Copenhagen offices in February 2006.
