We couldn’t resist this one. An email back several weeks ago to Marc Boudier, the EVP of Air France Cargo was returned with an auto-reply message that made it quite clear some changes were afoot in the upper echelons of the AF-KLM group. Here’s the auto-reply message:

Now before we go any further, we have to issue the caveat that we’ve never claimed to be multi-lingual here at Belly Ache Central. So of course it’s no surprise that we took great amusement in the subject line….particularly the part that says “Marc àquitté Air France”…ok, so does that, like mean he QUIT!? Actually no. Alas it only means he “left” Air France. Funny how language works huh!?! But wait, there’s more! Check out the next line. Apparently Marc will be out of the office from the 15 September 2008 until 1 January 2051. We know the labour scene in France is très bizzare, but wow, that is some kinda retirement plan! Really, 43 years of retirement and then you have to come back to the office…mon dieu. We sincerely hope Ms Parly negotiated a better contract.
