Damco and Maersk Logistics have announced the appointment of Katherine Boesen as regional chief commercial officer for its Asia Pacific operations. In this role, she will take on overall responsibilities of marketing, sales and business development in the Asia Pacificregion.

She joins Damco and Maersk Logistics from Martin Bencher, where she was Managing Director for Singapore and Southeast Asia, responsible for business start-up and regional growth strategy. Prior to this she was the Director for Client Solutions, Asia Pacific for UTi Worldwide from 2005, and Head of Supply Chain for Alcatel in Australia from 2002.

Katherine will be based in Singapore and reports directly to Tony Hotine, CEO for Asia Pacific. “Coupled with her experience in providing freight forwarding and supply chain solutions, Katherine brings the right mix of skills and regional knowledge which I believe will complement our sales strategy. Our customers in Asia need supply chain managers with local expertise and understanding. We want to work with them to understand their supply chain needs and provide value by finding the solutions that best fit their requirements,” said Hotine.
