These openings add to FedEx Trade Networks’ freight forwarding operations in Hong Kong and Shanghai, which launched in 2008 and brings the total number of locations to 12.
The company said the new offices were aimed at giving more comprehensive coverage in key Asia-Pacific trade lanes and support the company’s continuing global freight forwarding expansion plans. In addition to Asia, FedEx Trade Networks is opening additional facilities and establishing alliances throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
“FedEx Trade Networks is committed to the Asia Pacific region and our current network expansion here reinforces the FedEx global growth strategy by enhancing our portfolio of services that our customers in this region demand,†said Joseph Frank, managing director, Asia, FedEx Trade Networks.
FedEx Trade Networks services include international air freight forwarding and ocean freight forwarding, import and export customs clearances, pickup and delivery, and air and ocean consolidations throughout Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Southern China and Eastern China.
