FreightScan, a provider of technology solutions for the freight and logistics industry, announced it has received a contract to permanently install an FS100 automated system for cargo dimensioning at the Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) cargo facility at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport following a successful three-month evaluationprocess.

This permanent installation for Worldwide Flight Services, which handles cargo on behalf of many airline carriers, came as a result of a successful evaluation that began in mid-August at the DFW location. The FS100 enables WFS to identify accurate dim weight of the shipments it handles and creates a visual record that is made available to the air carriers it represents.

“This first installation for WFS provides us the opportunity to work with one of the largest and best cargo handlers in the world, with an outstanding management team,” said Randy Richards, executive VP of Sales for FreightScan.

“The Dallas Fort Worth facility is very representative of how the FS100 can create value for cargo handlers around the world by providing both accurate chargeable weight and a significant savings in manpower with no disruption to existing workflow.”

The system captures accurate dimensions of cargo in seconds, and creates a retrievable data record for each waybill including dimensions, scan images and digital photos.
