Singapore Airlines Cargo has launched a weekly eastbound round-the-world freighter service to Atlanta. The B747- 400 freighter from Singapore is routed via Hong Kong, Anchorage and Los Angeles, returning via Brussels and Sharjah. The carrier mounted a series of ad hoc charter services to Atlanta in September, before deciding on a scheduled service. Major imports for Atlanta are consumer products such as electronics from Asia while major exports include heavy machinery parts to Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
