Damco has announced the appointment of Willie van Heusden as managing director for its New Zealand operations. In this role, van Heusden will oversee all aspects of the logistics and freight forwarding business.

Van Heusden joins Damco from Schenker NZ Ltd where he was general manager of its Auckland operations from 2000-2007. Since then he has been active in supply chain consultancy. He is also the current president of Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association in New Zealand.
