As part of the audit, SATS had to convince the assessors that it had a proven Quality Management System and an information system in place to track relevant import and export cargo processes and performance data to satisfy the requirements of Cargo 2000. SATS also had to demonstrate its commitment and readiness to provide a monthly Management Report to Cargo 2000 as part of the quality measurement and reporting process.
With the adoption of the Cargo 2000 programme, SATS will be able to work to the industry standard quality management system which is supported by many of its major airline customers. It will now work collaboratively with the Cargo 2000 member community to improve the overall performance of the message improvement program. Cargo 2000 is an industry group within the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
“Over many years, SATS has earned recognition in the global air cargo industry for its professional cargo handling services,†said Cargo 2000’s regional director Asia, Tom Presnail. “The fact that it recognises the importance of working to Cargo 2000’s quality standards to further meet the requirements of its customers is a strong indicator of the value of the C2K programme.â€Â
