John Keells Logistics, a part of the Logistics business unit of the John Keells Transportation Group — Sri Lanka’s largest conglomerate listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange — unveiled a new brand identity which encompasses the Supply Chain management and Freight Forwarding businesses of the group across South Asia.

The new identity is an integral part of the regional expansion plans of John Keells Logistics, which already has presence in Sri Lanka, India and Maldives, the group said in a statement. The group is aiming to emerge as a leading player in the rapidly expanding logistics sector by offering a seamless service offering across multiple markets.

“This change reflects a new chapter in our continued development,” commented Romesh David, president of the John Keells Transportation Group. “Our Customers are increasingly seeking regional solutions, as intra-Asia trade continues to rise. They expect not only cost-effective, but a single window service offering to manage complete supply chains. Given this scenario, we intend to expand our service foot print across key markets such as India, through strategic partnerships and alliances,” he said.

The John Keells Logistics SBU consists of John Keells Logistics Lanka with branches in Sri Lanka and Maldives, John Keells Logistics India; all engaged in global freight forwarding services with IATA accreditation and John Keells Logistics (Pvt) Ltd which specialises in warehousing and supply chain services, managing complex inventories and providing innovative transportation solutions across diverse industry groups.

John Keells Logistics Lanka has a diverse customer portfolio ranging from MNCs to exporters of perishable food items. They provide a fullyfledged clearing and forwarding service, including Customs clearance and haulage services. They also specialise in handling project cargo with capabilities to fulfill requirements involving even remote locations in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
