The upcoming India/Middle East Supplement will examine current issues facing the air cargo industry in these regions. The Middle East, led by Dubai, continues to surge ahead with dynamic air cargo growth and substantial investment in infrastructure. India on the other hand continues to struggle with infrastructure issues that have constrained its air cargo growth. While the government and private sector have been actively working on improving airport infrastructure many industry players say it is not moving fast enough. The domestic air cargo market has also seen its fair share of upheaval with loss-making state carrier Air India still struggling to fight off losses while another private carrier Deccan 360 was recently grounded due to loses. The woes of the Indian market have not however dissuaded other carriers from tapping the healthy economic growth of the country. This upcoming supplement in the September issue of Payload Asia will examine these issues and other key trends in these two dynamic markets.
