ST Aerospace has announced it will launch the development of a new 15-pallet cargo configuration for its B757-200 freighter conversion programme which will incorporate winglets on the aircraft. Including this new configuration, ST Aerospace now offers a full suite of B757 freighter conversions, including: 8-pallet cargo-passenger combination configuration with a class E forward cargo compartment; 14.5-pallet cargo configuration with rigid barrier; and a 15-pallet cargo configuration with rigid barrier.
As part of the development, ST Aerospace will obtain a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the 15-pallet configuration. It is expected to receive certification by July 2014. This STC will be based on ST Aerospace’s existing FAA-approved STC for the B757-200 passenger-to-freighter (PTF) conversion which is the only STC developed based on Boeing’s licensed passenger and freighter data.
