Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia-based Malindo Air, a subsidiary of Indonesia’s Lion Air, has received permission from India’s aviation authorities to commence flights to the country with services to Delhi beginning from 30 December 2013 using B737-900 aircraft. This will be quickly followed by two further routes, with flights to the southern city of Tiruchirappalli commencing 2 January 2014 and services to Mumbai launching on 15 February.
“We are excited to announce the wonderful news of our expansion to the cities of India,” said Chandran Rama Muthy, Malindo’s CEO. “The decision to start our services to these long-awaited new routes emphasises the value and importance of tourism, trade and business links between India and Malaysia.”
