Swiftair has selected Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI) to provide eight B737-400SF passenger to freighter conversions. The contract calls for four firm orders plus an additional four options. The first aircraft, built in 1991 (MSN 24438) is a high gross weight B737-400 and is currently being modified at Commercial Jet in Miami, Florida, which is an authorised AEI Conversion Center. The second aircraft (MSN 24445) is on location in Miami and will commence modification in mid-September.
AEI’s vice president of sales & marketing, Robert T. Convey stated, “We are delighted that Swiftair has chosen the industry leading AEI B737-400SF conversion for their fleet.” He added, “The proven reliability and flexible utilisation of the AEI conversion will provide Swiftair with many years of valuable service.”
