Batik Air took delivery of its maiden pair of A320-200 (sl)s, PK-LAF (cn 6164) and PK-LAG (cn 6280), Skyliner Aviation reports. The jets are part of a 2013 order parent Lion Air Group placed with Airbus in 2013, entailing 60 A320ceo, 109 A320neo, and 65 A321neo.
Aside from two A310-300s that featured in Lion Airlines’ fleet between summer 2001 and spring 2002, the A320s are the first Airbus metal to feature in the Lion Air Group.
Prior to the arrival, Batik Air’s fleet had consisted of only Boeing machinery with two B737-800s and six B737-900(ER)s used on domestic and international services from its Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta and Manado bases.
