MASkargo has transported Canada’s art projects from Montreal to the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) in Kuala Lumpur.
Working in collaboration with Air Canada to bring the Quilt of Belonging (QoB) to Malaysia, the precious cargo was loaded on to flight AC874 on 11 October and thereafter on to Malaysia Airlines flight MH5 which flew from Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur. Weighing at a total of 1.2 tonnes, the QoB was carefully handled by MASkargo staff in Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur to ensure that it arrives safely at its destination on 14 October.
The QoB is a 120 foot (36 metres) long collaborative textile art project, a richly hued portrait of the human family. The Quilt is brought to Malaysia in conjunction with the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) exhibition that is being held from 19 to 21 October in PICC.
MASkargo acting chief executive officer, Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi said, “We are happy to work in collaboration with the members of CAPAM to bring the QoB to Malaysia. The Quilt tells a story of cultural diversity amongst the people of the world, especially those in the Commonwealth. It also represents the spirit of unity and we are proud to play such a vital role to bring the QoB to Malaysia”.
