Pudong Airport (PVG), Shanghai Customs, have implemented Customs e-Release for both export and import for general cargo (not including express cargo). As a consequence, a stamp on the paper AWB for Customs clearance is no longer required, hence removing the requirement of paper Master AWB. PVG Customs confirmed that all e-AWB capable airlines are now able to do e-AWB for both import and export.
How to do e-AWB at Shanghai (PVG)?
Airlines are advised to work with their respective freight forwarder and GHA partners to ensure both their operation and data exchange capability are in place. Airlines are advised to inform the PVG airport customs locally on the date of e-AWB switch over. It is also recommitted that the airlines work with the GHAs to ensure the local security requirements are met.
What is required for the customs electronic clearance?
The e-release is given to the primary warehouse (GHA bounded warehouse/ terminal) and freight forwarder via customs dedicated secure system. The airlines are advised to contact their GHA for the detail of data exchange setup and procedure to remove paper MAWB. Freight forwarders are advised to contact PVG local customs for setup data exchange.
