Thousands of Lufthansa flights have been cancelled after a pilots’ union staged a 21-hour walkout Tuesday. The ongoing labour dispute has already cost the German carrier hundreds of millions of euros.
On the other hand, the cargo arm of Lufthansa said in a press statement that it will still operate 100 per cent of its scheduled flights. Germanwings, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Air Dolomiti are not affected by the industrial action. Lufthansa Cargo said that flight operations would largely return to normal when the strike comes to an end tomorrow.
