UTi Worldwide Inc. has expanded its freight forwarding footprint in Malaysia by opening new facilities in Port Klang and Kuantan.

UTi combined its former offices in Kuala Lumpur and Port Klang into a new facility boasting the latest technology. “Our growth in footprint and investment in this new facility in Port Klang and our new office in Kuantan reflect the momentum that our business in Malaysia has seen over the last two years. Some of this is coming from our strategic interest in expanding into the oil, gas and energy market and another is coming from our belief in the long-term economy and role Malaysia will play in the ASEAN Economic Community in the long term,” said Ditlev Blicher, UTi president, Freight Forwarding.

“We created synergy and efficiencies for UTi and our clients with our teams and management now sitting in one location while serving clients in both locations, given the port in Klang and the airport in Kuala Lumpur,” said Vikram Paul, UTi regional vice president, South East Asia. “This new location gives us an optimal presence in Malaysia and will allow us to expand with a more competitive position in human resources and real estate.”
