DB Schenker’s jetcargo division launched a new weekly air cargo service effective today, linking Hong Kong, China (HKG), to Chicago, IL (ORD), and Houston, TX (IAH). Fulfilling the needs of the oil and gas, automotive and industrial sectors, the new service – with guaranteed capacity – will use B747-8 F aircraft. The company said that the new weekly air charter service will benefit DB Schenker’s US Midwest customers with freight moving from Southeast China to the US Southwest, Gulf of Mexico and Northern Mexico.
DB Schenker jetcargo is now offering three airfreight solutions with defined lead-times, no dimensional or weight restrictions, and end-to end online tracking. Service options include: 1-2 days (First Class), 3-4 days (Business Class), or within 6 days (Economy). Cargo will include, but is not limited to, Oil and Gas, Project Cargo, and Automotive equipment and supplies.
In a news release, Malcolm Heath, CEO, Schenker Inc, said: “This new service offers maximum speed and reach with options to fit our customers’ schedules and budgets. They will benefit from complete visibility and access to information when they need it: 24x7x365 days a year. We have a national permit covering all Remote Location Filing (RLF) ports nationwide with specially trained, licensed brokers across the country.”
Edward Fish, Houston-based VP, Global Projects, Oil and Gas for DB Schenker, added: “DB Schenker’s Houston Branch is strategically and uniquely positioned to act as a centralised control tower in support our oil & gas and project customers. Our Houston hub can facilitate coordination of logistics throughout the region, including the Gulf of Mexico and border operations.”
