CEVA Logistics has strengthened its senior management team in Iberia with the appointment of Philip Griffiths to the position of contract logistics business development director.
He joins CEVA from Kuehne + Nagel where he held the position of lead logistics solutions manager in Spain for the last six years; prior to that he was business development manager for the country for the previous seven years. Originally a native of Wales, he has spent more than 20 years in the logistics industry in Spain.
Griffiths’ strong contract logistics background has focussed on FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) and retail and he also has extensive experience in the execution of complex projects. At CEVA he will be in charge of the contract logistics business development team across the cluster and will be responsible for driving growth through both new and existing customers.
He will divide his time between Madrid and Barcelona and report directly to CEVA’s managing director, Iberia, Marco Galbusera.
Philip Griffiths said: “CEVA is in a booming moment here in Spain and this is an exciting opportunity to join a team of people who have really deep technical knowledge of Contract Logistics operations. In turn this means we can offer innovative supply chain solutions to both existing and new customers. I am looking forward to the tremendous possibilities this opens up and I am confident we can deliver real results for the business.”
Marco Galbusera added: “Philip is a well-respected contract logistics professional with an impressive track record and we are delighted to have someone of his experience join our team to drive that side of the business forward.”
Philip Griffiths replaces Izaskun Barquin who has been appointed director, global business development for the consumer, retail and healthcare sectors.
