DHL Supply Chain, a global market leader for contract logistics solutions, announced that it has been awarded a three-year contract to manage the supply chain operations for Kate Spade, the global lifestyle brand, in Japan from February 2015. Under the new agreement, DHL is responsible for the storage and distribution of Kate Spade New York and Jack Spade products to its retail network of over 80 stores across the country; and manages e-commerce operations for customers purchasing via the brand’s website and other online shopping sites.
“DHL Supply Chain provides tailored logistics solutions for many of the leading fashion brands in Japan and around the world. Kate Spade Japan is very important to us as it further demonstrates our expertise and capabilities in supporting customers in the fashion and apparel industry,” said Gavin Murdoch, president and representative director of DHL Supply Chain in Japan.
“Working with other DHL business units, we provide Kate Spade Japan a tailor-made solution to centrally manage and track the whereabouts of their products in transit anywhere in the world.
The new solution leverages the broader DHL business with products shipped from manufacturing plants in 10 countries including Brazil, Italy and the US; to Japan using DHL Global Forwarding, the specialist air, sea and road freight division, and DHL Express, leading international express services provider.
