MASkargo has commenced its twice weekly A330-200F freighter service to Dhaka, Bangladesh part of its expansion initiatives in the South Asian market. Dhaka is a significant exporter of perishable products like fresh seafood, and garments and MASkargo prides itself in its capability to link Bangladesh with its global trading partners.
The MASkargo freighter will be operating into Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport every Monday and Wednesday. In addition to the current belly hold capacity available on Malaysia Airlines passenger aircraft, the new freighter route will provide 120 tonnes capacity a week to Bangladesh’s thriving agricultural and manufacturing exporting industry.
MASkargo also marked another historical milestone by launching its A330-200 freighter flight to Bangalore, India. MH6242 is scheduled to fly into Bengaluru International Airport from Kuala Lumpur every Friday and the weekly freighter flight will offer a total capacity of 60 tonnes. The new service adds to the existing twice weekly freighter services into Chennai International Airport.
“There is a huge potential for MASkargo to grow in India. We are meeting the market demand to connect Kuala Lumpur and Bangalore for the export of electronic spare parts and the import of pharmaceutical products and garment to Malaysia and beyond,” said Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, acting CEO of MASkargo.
He added, MASkargo is committed to play its part as the preferred air cargo carrier to meet the requirements of a rapidly growing market such as Bangalore. The presence of international manufacturing companies and the country’s potential in air transportation has stimulated demand for fast and reliable air cargo movement, which is precisely what MASkargo offers to its customers.
