FedEx Express has improved its international outbound express services covering FedEx International Priority and FedEx International Priority Freight in seven Chinese cities: Dalian, Yantai, Weihai, Jinan, Zibo, Zhengzhou and Chongqing. The transit time for shipments from these cities to the US, Europe and other parts of the world will be reduced by one to two business days, helping customers optimise their supply chains and strengthen their competitive edges in their target markets.
“China is one of the world’s most important economies in the current global business climate, and I’m delighted that FedEx is able to help enhance the connectivity enjoyed by these cities,” said Karen Reddington, president, Asia Pacific, FedEx Express. “Our numerous Chinese SME customers are expected to benefit in particular, and this service enhancement underscores FedEx determination to help small companies with big ideas and aspirations in their quest to go global.”
The service enhancement in these seven cities will benefit small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in particular, many of which are engaged in the production of arts and crafts, electronic chips, and manufacturing spare parts. For these SMEs, the ability to get products to overseas markets on schedule is as important as the product quality. This service enhancement significantly shortens time-to-market for SME customers that sell to overseas markets.
