UPS Worldwide Express Freight is expanding its global express freight service, adding eight origin and five destination countries for time-sensitive, high-value heavyweight shipments.

This brings the total number of origin and destination countries and territories served by UPS Worldwide Express Freight to 58 and 56, respectively, UPS said.

In January, UPS added 12 origin and nine destination countries to its express freight service and since its 2013 launch, the service has enjoyed double-digit growth in revenue and volume.

The eight origin countries incude five in Latin America – El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama – and three in Europe – Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia. The Latin American countries are both origin and destination points.

“We expanded the number of countries we serve due to consumer requests and anticipated future demand,” UPS VP of international marketing Nick Basford said.

“Eastern Europe is experiencing growth in the manufacturing and automotive industries and Latin America is undergoing rapid expansion of general industrial, healthcare, apparel, and high tech businesses.”

The service offers faster guaranteed palletised shipments, over 70 kg, in more lanes than any other carrier, according to UPS. Delivery is door-to-door and daydefinite, with customs brokerage service included “We expanded the number of countries we serve due to consumer requests and anticipated future demand.
