CEVA Logistics has announced its extended collaboration with 3M to be their preferred logistics service provider in warehouse management and distribution in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Under the terms of the renewed contract, CEVA will operate both 3M’s Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) and national DC in Singapore, with an increased warehouse footprint to nearly 28,000 sqm in total. CEVA also manages 3M’s national distribution centres in Malaysia and Indonesia. The scope of services to support 3M includes warehouse management activities, inbound and outbound operations, inventory management, bonded warehouse storage, raw materials, inbound logistics of the plants and other value added services.
In addition, CEVA will use its customised IT solution, Matrix Warehouse Management System (WMS) at the RDC to provide 3M with real time visibility and better control of their supply chain. 3M’s RDC in Singapore plays an important role in the region as part of 3M’s supply chain optimisation strategy to meet demands of their customers.
3M’s Asia manufacturing and supply chain director, David W. Werner, said: “3M puts the customer at the centre of what we do. An optimised supply chain delivers tangible benefits in increased operational efficiency, time to market and cost management. We are pleased to work with CEVA and leverage their supply chain expertise to maintain a strong, robust supply chain for 3M in this region to better serve our customers.”
Elaine Low, CEVA’s executive VP for South East Asia, said: “We recognise the increasing complexities of supply chains that global companies, such as our customer, 3M, faces. To support their strategy for a responsive and efficient supply chain, CEVA is constantly designing solutions and ways to increase our level of service to 3M so that they can, in turn, fulfil their customer promise.”
