Volga-Dnepr Gulf (VDG), which represents Volga-Dnepr Technics in the Middle East region, has signed a contract with Malaysian charter operator Eagle Express to provide maintenance services for the airline’s B747-400 fleet.
Work under the contract will be carried out in Volga-Dnepr Gulf’s modern hangar complex located in Sharjah, UAE, which was launched by Volga-Dnepr Group in April 2013. The contract covers maintenance services for A4-check, Out-Of-Phase Routine Tasks and AD/SB performance.
In July, Volga-Dnepr Gulf successfully conducted maintenance on the first Eagle Express B747-400 (leased from Saudia Airlines) and work has subsequently been completed on a further two aircraft.
Volga-Dnepr Gulf was authorised to undertake the work after the Department of Civil Aviation of Malaysia evaluated the company’s hangar facilities in Sharjah Airport and granted approval for VDG to perform maintenance services.
Victor Sherin, managing director of Volga-Dnepr Gulf, said: “We are happy to start our cooperation with Eagle Express and ready to provide high quality services to meet all of the airline’s requirements. Eagle Express is planning to expand its fleet and VDG has already started negotiations regarding a long-term contract for maintenance performance on its new aircraft. We are sure that the quality and efficiency of the services we deliver for Eagle Express will further enhance our position in Middle East MRO market and lead to new growth opportunities.”
