Korean Air is providing relief goods to those affected by the flood in Myanmar with goods delivered to the country including 1,800 litres of water and 500 blankets. The relief goods fom Korean Air were delivered to Myanmar on 2 September, through the carrier’s flight KE471. More than 150,000 people have been displaced since the flood swamped 15,000 homes and inundated fields after continued storms hit the region in late July.
The international community has been supporting the ongoing relief and recovery efforts. Korean Air is providing relief for the flood victims in Myanmar through the Red Cross. As a leading global carrier, Korean Air has a strong commitment to supporting relief efforts in times of need. In the aftermath of the earthquake in Kathmandu, Nepal in April 2015 the carrier donated of relief goods such as 24,000 bottles of mineral water and 2,000 blankets to those affected by the earthquake. Korean Air also transported relief supplies that were donated to the Embassy of Nepal.
