FedEx Express signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) on 30 March to develop a new cargo terminal at ICN.

The new FedEx Cargo Terminal facility is planned to have a sort capacity of up to 9,000 packages per hour, allowing inbound and outbound shipments to be processed faster and enhancing the overall customer experience. It will serve as a consolidation and transshipment point for Korea.

The new FedEx-dedicated cargo terminal will be located at Incheon International Airport’s northern site and is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2019. FedEx plans to deploy advanced logistics facilities at the new terminal, including an automated cargo sorting system to meet the fast-growing demand of express cargo. The new cargo terminal is planned to cover 23,425 sqm, more than twice the size of the current facility, including warehouse, office and canopy.
